Do you want to build a relationship that lasts? Then you must start by making God the cornerstone of your relationship.
God does not intend for you to experience mediocre relationships; He created you for greater things. Building lasting relationships requires compassion, wisdom, empathy, kindness, courtesy, and forgiveness.
If that sounds like a lot of work, it is-which is perfectly fine with God. Why? Because He knows that you are cable of that work, and because He knows that the fruits of your labor will enrich the lives of your loved ones and the lives of generations yet unborn.
And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Colossians 3:14-15 (MSG)
