Biblical Evidence #8: The SavedOne of the most powerful witnesses of the truth of the Bible is the changed lives of the people who have believed its message and accepted Christ as Savior. Paul knew very well about the power of the Gospel to transform lives. His life was transformed on the road to Damascus. He went from persecutor of Christians to one of the greatest missionaries of all time and because of him, Christs's message continues to go forth through the Scriptures that he recorded.
To this very day, the Gospel message as recorded in the Bible is continuing to transform the lives of people. The writer of Hebrews tells us that "the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12).
Peter adds, "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God." (1 Peter 1:23).
"While early Islam experienced
Biblical Evidence #7: The SpiritWithout the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life, no amount of evidence will be able to convince a person that the Bible is the Word of God. Jesus told his disciples in John 15:26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me."
He said that the Holy Spirit would bear testimony to Christ. How is it that the Holy Spirit will testify about Jesus? Romans 10:17 "faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the words of Christ."
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, testifies to the truthfulness of God's Word which tells us about Jesus Christ and His Gospel. As the Spirit draws us and testifies to us as we read or hear the Word of God and we come to believe in and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, then as Romans 8:16 says, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children,"
The Word of God is our means of knowing who God is, what Jesus has
Biblical Evidence #6: The SupernaturalGod has used miracles and wonders to confirm the truth of the things he has had to say throughout history. Deuteronomy 18:21-22 “You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?’ If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.”
In the Bible God has given many prophecies in both the Old and New Testaments. In our day, we have the benefit of seeing the fulfillment of many of the prophecies that the Old Testament recorded which is another evidence that this is the Word of God is. I want to just share a couple of the Messianic prophecies with you that not only support the claim that the Bible is the Word of God but also shows that Jesus is the promised Messiah.
The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem: Predicted- Micah 5:2, Fulfilled- Matthew 2:1-6
The Messiah would be born of a Virg
Biblical Evidence #5: The StonesThis is the Archeological discoveries throughout history. Do these discoveries support or cast doubt on the claim that the Bible is true? Archeology can confirm all kinds of facts such as people, places, dates, and customs. While it can’t tell us the truth of things that can’t be uncovered through archeology, it can show the accuracy and truth of what the factual claims the Bible makes, and that does lend greater credence to believing the accuracy and truth of the things that we cannot check.
There have been instances in the past where people have though that the Bible was wrong about something only later to be shown that the Bible was right and they were wrong. For instance, many skeptics of the Bible had asserted for years that there was a discrepancy in the Bible concerning the healing of the blind man in Mark 10:46 and Luke 18:35.
Mark 10:46 “Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bar
Biblical Evidence #4: The SaviorJesus affirmed the Truth of the Old Testament in His use of it. In Matthew 4:4, Jesus says “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Here we see Jesus using the Old Testament Scripture and saying that it comes from the mouth of God.
Jesus even uses authority of God’s Word to rebuke Satan when He says “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only’” (Matthew 4:10).
Jesus knew and recognized the divine nature of the Scripture and the power that comes with it. Jesus also affirmed the unchanging truth of the Scriptures. He says, “I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:18).
Jesus affirmed the Truth of the New Testament by the Spirit coming. In John 14:26, Jesus
Biblical Evidence #3: The StructureBy this I mean the means that God used to put His word on paper and into the hands of his people. There were over 40 human authors who wrote over a period of 1500 years. Even given the different authors and the many years, there is still a unity to what they were writing.
These 2 factors give support to the conclusion that the Bible was ultimately written by God because it becomes impossible to conclude that so many people were able to collude and come up with this book in their own power and wisdom.
I believe that one of the reasons that God used so many people and not just one person is that it silences the argument that one person was able to compose this book and start a religion just because they wanted to. It is impossible for people to even say that a group of people colluded together to come up with this because of the time frame of its writing. The number of people who were authors and the length of time involved suggest that there was some eternal being that was orchestrating
Biblical Evidence #2: The ScribesHow is it that we can determine if what the Apostle said was true? The same way we determine it today. We begin by looking at what they said. Do they give details that can be verified? Are their possible motives for them to make up the things they are saying? These thing usually accompany dishonesty: motive to lie, lack of details in account, and want few people to know.
So do the authors give details? The Bible is full of details. The Old Testament gives detailed histories of Kings and their reigns. The New Testament gives reigns of Emperors and other events and places that can be confirmed in their accuracy. The book of Acts is full of historical details. The Gospel of Luke gives numerous historical details.
Luke 1:5 “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest name Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Alijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.”
Luke 2:1-2 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census sh
Biblical Evidence #1: The ScrollsThis would also be known as the manuscript evidence that we have. Manuscripts are written documents that we have of the various books of the Bible. They are copies that have been discovered that date back from the early second century, less than a generation from when the last books of the New Testament were written.
If these manuscripts are just copies, how can we be sure that what we read today is actually what the Apostles and prophets wrote down? To see if we can trust what we read today, let’s take a look at the Copying Process.
Copying the Word of God was taken seriously. Copyists had safety measures in place to make sure they produced exact copies. Copyists knew:
The number of letters in a particular line,
The number of lines in a particular book,
The number of words in a book,
The middle verse of a book,
The middle word of a book,
The middle letter of a book.
If their copy did not match these exactly, it was discarded and they began again. This process has proved to be qu
John and SteveJohn had just finished explaining to his coworker, Steve, about some of the changes going on in his life since he became a Christian. Steve had grown up going to church but he just went out of obligation and never really believed the stuff that was being said. John had grown up in a similar environment but had recently been attending a church that was preaching the Bible. He told Steve that he had heard things in this church that he never heard in the church where he grew up.
He told Steve that because we all haved sinned or done something wrong, we have all been separated from God. But, because God loves us so much, he sent Jesus to be the atoning sacrifice of our sins. Jesus paid the price for all of the wrong things we have done. John told Steve that if he recognized that he was a sinner and in need of a Savior and truly believed that Jesus died for his sins and was resurrected after three days, proving that he was truly God and had the authority to forgive sins, that Steve would be

No one ever told you this so I guess that I will.
You don't have to have sex just because you think thats what you should be doing. Have sex if and when you want to, with whoever you choose. Be safe and consensual and be ready. No matter how committed you are to someone, whether you love them. Whether you're in love with them. Whether you're related to them by blood or marriage.. you should never do something you don't want to do for them.
You don't have to be ashamed about sex. Just because you made a horrific mistake as a child and as a result you have no idea what you're doing.. most people don't. When you find the right guy he will help you learn what he wants. Everyones different anyway so knowing how to please one guy wouldn't give you an advantage for the next. It's okay to be scared given what you've been through but now all you have to do is wait. Remember to wait. Because three times you pushed yourself
A love letterI have asked my self a thousand times why I love you. And while I can list hundreds of the virtues and intricacies of your soul that have caused me to deem you an angel, I don't think I can fairly say that any or all of these things are reasons why I love you, but rather that the love I have for you is the reason why I see them. And I think that is perhaps the single most beautiful, heartbreaking, and vivid truth about love, that it has no rules or blueprints, it simply is. It refuses to be contained, or limited by our capacity to understand it. It transcends reason and rationality. And in our struggle to define love, love defines us.
Dear Cousin Katie,Dear Cousin Katie,
Hey, you piece of trash. A rude greeting for a child, I know, but you deserve it. Because you're evil, complete evil. I am positive you know what you do and say is wrong, though possibly a bit oblivious to the full extent of what you've been doing. You're on your way to a pretty serious beating once you're a bit older. Honestly, if you aren't drop dead gorgeous, someone is going to murder you. Heck, I'll murder you. Just wait.
In case you think I'm being unfair to you, let's go back and talk about a few things, shall we? First off, what kind of beast tells her brother to kill himself because no one loves him? While he's on suicide watch? And while he's dying, because you're a kid, you get away with telling him to stop wasting everyone's time and either stop faking or die. Yes, hospitals are boring, but you kinda just have to deal with that. If someone is being rushed away, or is attached to lots of needles and tubes, there is
longing until someone comesSometimes we feel like islands;
We long for the company of others, but once someone comes we aren't sure what to do with them and most of time they don't know what to do with us either.

A Letter for a Loved One LostDearest Aunt Susan,
It has been a year since the cancer plucked the strength from your bones and called down the chariots of heaven to take you home. Not a day has passed that I do not think of you. Not a day has passed since I remember the promise which I was never able to keep. I feel horrible for this, though I know deep in my heart, you are smiling down on me and telling me not to worry about it. You and I were of like mind. We looked at the world with morbid curiosity and humor. We shared our thoughts every week, though every week since you’ve been gone it goes without saying that I am still waiting. I haven’t brought myself to erase your number from my phone. I keep waiting for the emails that will never come, the laughs we can no longer share and the smiles I will never see.
It has been raining for the last four days, today being no exception. The rain is joined by my tears as I remember the last time I saw your smiling face. It doesn’t get easier sometimes. I
Father GodI created people to need and love one another. That never changed, even when sin entered into the world. Yet in spite of my desire for loving harmony, families often make a mess of their relationship.
I warned David that his sin would cause problems within his family. Ultimately, after simmering and planning for two years, one of David's son killed the other in vengeance for their sister. If only they had sought me in the process...I love to help families secure and strengthen their bonds.
I believe in family. I believe in family so much that I'm building an eternal home for mine. Meanwhile, I'm right here in the midst of your earthly family-and my heart's desire is to help you come together in peace and mutual love. Just call on me for guidance. After all, I'm a Father. I want to help my children.
